How to create a featured image for your blog
Today we are going to share a tutorial with you that can be very useful to you. In this article, we will know that you can easily create a featured image for your blog or website.
You do not need Adobe Photoshop or any other high-graphic designing software to create a featured image. Today I’m going to teach you from a software that almost everyone is installed on a Windows PC and we have been using this software since school time. In this article, I have taught you how to create a featured image for your blog.
I am using Microsoft Powerpoint for a long time to create personally featured images. You will now say that this software is used to make ppts or slides. Yes, you think right, but by using its features we can do more than make slides and much more. And one of such features is creating great graphical designs.
Using MS-PowerPoint to Create a Featured Images Step by Step Guide
First, by opening MS PowerPoint, let us clear the layout. After that, draw a rectangle box from the menu with the shapes, as it is also made in the screenshot shown below. You can also find the Shapes menu inside Insert Tab. If this is the main body of your featured image, then its size should be kept with the size and dimensions of your featured image.
Now you fill the colours using the FORMAT tools in this rectangle. It would be great if you use the gradient instead of the plain colours, which look great in appearance. First, select any colour and then its related gradient.
Now after this I have also created a rectangle below, in which I will write the name of the blog, i.e. Tech Shout Us.
You can edit any text that you want to add to the image, as you want with Text formatting options. Like I just selected the font, bolded and add the shadow effect, finally white colour.
In this, you can select any shape or text and go to the FORMAT tab, and many customizations can also be done.
You can also drag and drop the external images directly into the PowerPoint window. You can also add images by clicking on the Pictures option in the INSERT tab.
Once the image is added, place it in the right spot in the rectangle and then select it, then the picture tool’s tab will be enabled which will give you many related options of image editing, which you can check yourself.
Right now, I have selected a “Rotate White” effect from the menu with different effects. As you can see, this effect is applied along with the image on the same.
Now you can write anything in your image like, write the title of your post in it and put it in the right place
When you feel that your featured image has been prepared, then you can select everything, for this, there is a shortcut key, Ctrl + A and then holding the mouse over any item, right click. In the option of a group, select the group again which will be the open menu.
You can also do this with the shortcut key, the key is Ctrl + G.
Now all your elements will be in a group, select it, and right-click. Now click on Save As Picture.
After this, you will need to do some corrections on the image. For this, wherever you have saved the image, go and select the image. Then right click and then click on Edit option. By doing this, your picture will open in the MS Paint software.
If there is an extra white space in your image then use crop properly.
And after this, whatever size of the image you have on your blog, also resize the image accordingly. The Resize option is also under the crop in the paint window of the paint. Keep the option of the Main Aspect Ratio checked, by this, the ratio of your image will not be bad.
Note: I can include free images on Pixabay to include in the featured image. Find Free Images for Commercial Use with Pixabay’s mobile app or other free images website.
That’s it. Now save this image by Ctrl + S. Now you can set this image as a featured image or title image on your blog. So you have learned How to create a featured image for your blog in this article.
